Asturias, Spain – In a bid to raise awareness about the groundbreaking work being carried out by the IDEAHL project, our esteemed partner and coordinator, CSPA-SESPA-FICYT, recently made a resounding impact at two local events in Asturias. The aim was to showcase the project’s activities and highlight its remarkable outcomes.
Kicking off the series, on November 2nd, the CSPA-SESPA-FICYT team descended upon the lively town of Gijón to partake in the 5th Meeting of Women Carers. Organized by the Fundación Mujeres-Cuidadanas as part of the World Day of Carers celebrations, the event provided an excellent platform to engage with a dedicated group of 30 women carers. Cristina Fernández (SESPA), responsible for the ethics work package within the project, and Amaya García from the Asturias School of Care, who is spearheading the pilot of the innovative ‘Get Active for your Health’ intervention, took center stage. They captivated the audience with a presentation that unveiled the IDEAHL project and shed light on the comprehensive training opportunities available through the pilot course.
Building on this momentum, the CSPA-SESPA-FICYT team continued their mission on November 8th, as they engaged with 30 ambitious young students and aspiring professionals specializing in various nursing fields. The gathering comprised individuals focusing on pediatric, geriatric, occupational, community, primary care, and mental health nursing. During the enlightening session, our colleagues Isabel Diez (SESPA), Laura Pruneda, and Elvira Llaneza (FICYT) delved into the realm of European projects, shedding light on the diverse initiatives involving the Regional Ministry of Health. The IDEAHL project took center stage as they presented compelling ideas that could be implemented within the students’ respective health centers. The discussion further explored future proposals for continuity and engagement, creating a fertile ground for collaboration and inspiring young people to actively participate in shaping the future of healthcare.
These two impactful events proved to be a resounding success, effectively disseminating the remarkable achievements of the IDEAHL project to end-users across the Asturias region. By engaging with caregivers and nurturing the passion of future healthcare professionals, the project continues to make significant strides in promoting health and empowering communities.
